The purpose of this application

Canonhouse is a web application for authors and writing groups. Its purpose is to keep a manuscript and its lore in one organization so the story stays consistent while people collaborate.

After you create an account you can:

Open a personal workspace, or join a shared organization with owner, admin, editor, and viewer roles
Write a book as chapters and pages
Keep notes, lore, and references in an org-wide wiki linked to the manuscript
Propose drafts, review changes, comment, and restore page snapshots
Share an unlisted read-only link to a published book (admin role)

You sign in so we can give you that workspace, apply organization roles, and show your name to people you write with. Sign-in is Google or an emailed magic link. See the Privacy Policy for how we use account data.

Why we ask Google for your data

Canonhouse is a writing studio. An organization owns books and an org-wide wiki. People collaborate with drafts, reviews, and comments. You can sign in with Google or a magic link.

If you choose Google, we request only your name, email address, and profile photo. We use those to create your account, show who you are in the studio, and send organization invites to that email. We do not read your Gmail, Drive, contacts, Calendar, or other Google services.
